I think I need to concentrate to imagine the cursor is moving under my control while saying to myself that I need to move the cursor, so that the BCI can detect the signals from my head, instructing the computer to move the cursor. Does it really work in that way?
I believe that there must be something in common for information transportation, so we need to know what’s the common in working principles between computers and brain:
- The unit in brain is neuron——stimulus beyond threshold counts and the frequency carries information.
- The unit in computer is transistor——plenty of ‘0 and 1’ carry information.
The similarity makes the connection between brain and computer possible.
So, an idea flashes quickly in my mind can’t be regarded as a command. Only the stimulus is sufficiently strong and focused can the BCI receive the signal and translate it into a computer command.
